PREPARED 1 NOVEMBER 2026 · PRACTICAL GUIDANCE
Start with the decision
Describe what the property needs to do for you: a home, a business location, income or future development. Establish a comfortable budget in a named currency and distinguish the purchase price from your total acquisition budget.
Check the particulars
Ask for the current price and availability, title particulars, location and access. A marketing aerial is not a survey. Arrange an inspection and have suitable professionals review boundaries, condition, services and any proposed use.
Build your professional team
Your attorney should review title, ownership, transaction documents and the requirements relevant to your purchase. A lender, surveyor, engineer or valuer may also be appropriate. Brokerage guidance does not replace these specialist reviews.
Move from interest to a clear proposal
An initial conversation is open to all enquiries. For deeper acquisition review, ABD requires buyer identity, proof of funds or capacity, and a written LOI through a private channel. Clarify proposed price, funding, inspection requirements and timing.
Coordinate completion
Keep written records of agreed terms, deposits and deadlines. Confirm payment instructions independently through a trusted channel before moving funds. Your attorney should explain the effect of the documents before you sign.
